Beaufort
the Painted Pony

Beaufort used to be a ranch horse, but with his new job across the country, he noticed he didn't look like the other horses, and they were not very welcoming. But when a young rider was in trouble, Beaufort was the only horse brave enough to save the day.

Beaufort is real, too. He lives on a small farm in Maryland, and while he does look different than the other horses, he is fitting in quite nicely.

Candyce Miller

Candyce has been an equestrian and horse lover for over 40 years. She has owned several horses, but none have inspired her to actually write a book as much as Beaufort! In her first children's book, Beaufort the Painted Pony, Candyce writes a story based on real events in Beaufort's world. He is a paint-a unique black and white horse, not common on most farms. Candyce partners with established equestrian artist, Jocelyn Sandor Urban, to bring this story to life.
